Frances Meade lived in Saudi Arabia during the tumultuous years that
saw the transformation of the kingdom into a modern technological society.During her years in Saudi Arabia Frances Meade was principal of the Riyadh International Community School, protocol assistant to four American ambassadors, and the educational director of a Saudi women's organization for continuing education. In addition to Honey and Onions, Frances Meade has written and edited educational texts for Learning Incorporated, Coronet Instructional Films and Encyclopedia Britannica as well as columns and articles for magazines. The revised edition of Honey and Onions expands upon the original edition published in 1996 in Saudi Arabia. It covers only the first decade of her life in Riyadh and Jeddah from 1965 to 1975 before the oil boom that launched the kingdom into the modern world of technology. A book that will chronicle the subsequent decades is in progress. |
